Join nowI just took over as treasurer for an organization. I was given a USB drive with Quickbooks data in a file with a .qb2020 extension (from QB Desktop for Mac 2020). I don't have a Mac, so how do open this file in either Quickbooks for Windows or Quickbooks Online?
You have to find someone who uses Mac and ask their help to install the trial version for QB Desktop Mac 2020 to restore the file and convert it to QB Desktop (Windows) file format . Then you need to install the trial version for QB Desktop (Windows) to open the converted file later and migrate to QB Online. Last resort, purchase a 3rd party conversion service.

Hello, AYSO Area 6D.
Thank you for reaching out to the Community. As Fiat Lux - ASIA suggested, you need to find someone who uses MAC and download the trial version for QB Desktop Mac 2020 to restore the file and convert it to QB Desktop (Windows) file format. However, since you have mentioned you don't have a MAC PC, the other option is utilize a third party app to help you open the file.
In addition, you can also find a Pro-Advisor near you with a QB Mac product or contact our support team for other options.
For additional reference, you can use the following articles to learn more about installing, setting up, and converting the file in QuickBooks.
