I have followed the instructions to move the .dmg file to documents, open company file, go to quickbooks > preferences, choose attachments, select existing, but when i get to my file it is grayed out and I cannot select it
Solved! Go to Solution.
The backup file is in a .dmg container and cannot be restored directly. Double click the .dmg file to mount it, once mounted drag the company file from the open window to your documents folder. From QB use file open company and navigate to the file.

I had to reinstall QB on my Mac. I had all the QB files stored on cloud. So even though I had to install a new hardrive, I didn’t lose any files (YAY!) I followed the instructions, but I get a message telling me it’s not compatible and I need to update QB. When I go to run the update, it tells me it’s all up to date. The latest file is from 1/18/19 but I can’t open it. I’m confused. What should I do?

All my backup files are greyed out too. Nothing happens when I double-click them It was created from the same version of QB I'm trying to restore to, so it HAS to be compatible.
