To set up the alignment before printing preprinted checks, you'll need to go to the Payroll Settings to adjust it. You can follow the detailed steps found in this article:

For best results, use checks specifically designed for QuickBooks Online. You can get them through this link:
From the left menu, select Expenses. Choose Print Checks.
At the bottom of the page, select Print setup.
Select the type of checks you have: voucher or standard. ...Load blank paper into your printer. ..
Select View preview and print sample, then choose the Print icon.
