Once I get Quickbooks installed on the new Mac, do I simply copy and move the company files to the new Mac? Will that have all my data and setting? Are there other files I need to copy as well?
Hi, jkorolewski.
Yes! After double clicking the .dmg file, you’ll need to drag the company file with the .qbxxxx extension to your desired folder. Drag also the Attached Documents Library folder (If you have some) to the same folder where the company file is. Once saved, go to File then choose Open Company.
This will restore all your data and settings to your new MacBook. For more information on restoring other types of company file, please check this article: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Getting-Started/Restore-a-backup-dmg-in-QuickBooks-Mac/m-p/1....
