Re: how to transfer quickbooks to a new coputer

Greetings, @Piasushi!

You can create a hard drive copy of your company file so you can access QuickBooks remotely. I'm here to share a few insights and help you from there.

First off, you'll have to install QuickBooks on your new computer. Once done, you can open the backup copy of your company file and restore it.

Thus said, here's how you can create a backup copy of your company file:

  1. Go to File.
  2. Select Back Up Company.
  3. Choose the Create Local Backup option.
  4. Hit Options.
  5. Click Browse,
  6. Choose your hard drive.
  7. Select OK.
  8. Click Finish.

In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about creating a copy of your file: Create a Backup of your Company File.

Now, you'll have to restore your company file. To do so, you can follow the detailed steps outlined in this article: Restore a Backup of your Company File.

Lastly, I'll be also including an article that'll help you handle your future tasks when moving your company file to another computer: Resolve Errors when Moving your Company File.

If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know in the comment section down below. I'll be always around ready to help.
