How to upgrade - i am trying to move from QB 2006 Pro to QB 2012 so that I can then move to newer versions..

I currently have Quickbooks Pro 2006.  I saw the upgrade steps recommended by Intuit so I purchased Quickbooks 2012.  Upon trying to install it continually fails due to Adobe Flash Player.  I tried finding Adobe Flash player and it really does not seem to exist anywhere.  I have to have it to get 2012 working so I can upgrade the 2006 database.  Then my plan was to upgrade to the newer versions but now I am stuck.

Your problem is not adobe but the fact tgat you cannot possibly install a QB version last supported 6 years ago. It has not been gor sale for 9 years. Whomever sold you a new never activated program failed to let you know it is obsolete. Or if you were sold a used program, it is impossible to have the license transferred.

 

Chalk up your purchase of 2012 to a learning experience and buy 2021 direct from Intuit and if you cannot update your 2006 file yourself then reach out to QB support as tgey are know to convert for free if you buy from them

 

Or find a nearby Pro Advisor that has 2012 installed and who would convert for you.

You may have 2 options:

1. Reinstall QBD 2012 on compatibility mode Win 7

2. If you are using Win 10 Pro, utilize Hyper-V to install Win 7 and run your QBD 2012 to upgrade your file.

 

Then you may need to upgrade your file on QBD 2015 prior to opening it on your new QBD 2021. You may purchase a  one time license of QBD 2021 Pro for 1 user worth < $300 or QBD 2021 Premier for 1 user worth < $500.
