I am a small company and have quickbooks essential. I would like to have one user help with doing payroll only. Is there anything I can do without having to upgrade?

Hi there, bittersweetpetre.

 

If you already have a payroll subscription activated in QuickBooks Online (QBO), then you're able to add a user without upgrading the account. 

 

You can follow these steps to add a user with payroll access:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and choose Manage Users.
  2. Click on the Add user button.
  3. Select Standard user under Select user type and click on Next.
  4. Choose All and mark to select the Payroll access checkbox as the access rights. Then, click on Next.
  5. Set the user settings and choose Next.
  6. Enter the user's information and click on Save.

Then, let the user know to accept your invitation.
