I am getting an error when opening quickbooks that says This page can't be displayed

I have installed the Quickbooks 2017 Pro trial version and almost immediately run into a brick wall with bugs.

When I open the software I get a screen with an error message stating "This page can't be displayed" which I can not do anything from.  I have to go into task manager to force close quickbooks.

This happened before I loaded a company file but after it installed updates to quickbooks.  To get rid of this mess I have to fully uninstall quickbooks and delete all the quickbooks folders in program files, etc.  After installing the software again and updating quickbooks I get the same window with the same error.

After opening it worked. Not sure if it will stick. It has worked after opening and closing 4 times as well as rebooting and opening again. Good Luck

Thank you.  I did that, and it caused QuickBooks to open, but now I'm at another brick wall:  "We just need to verify your identity to activate."  I have put in the correct information multiple times, to each questions, and they say, "The information you entered doesn't match what we have on file. "   Can this be any more difficult?

OK thank you.  I'm just trying to use the Trial version to update my company file, which broke due to Windows 10 updates, and then migrate it to Quickbooks Online.  It's been a real struggle but I'll keep at it.  Thank you for your advice.

    C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Entitlement Client\v8\EntitlementDataStore.ecml  

after shutting down QB from the Task Manger. This should fix it permanently as it did not recur after restarts or updates.

I do wonder though if you are using win10, have you enabled IE?  As I understand it QB2017 will not work with the edge browser

check to see

    Right-click the Windows menu icon and select Programs and Features
    On the left, click Turn Windows features on or off.
    In the list of check boxes, check Internet Explorer 11 and click OK
    When prompted, restart your PC.

Yup I have windows 10 with Internet Explorer.  I checked the settings in IE as linked in the other answer and they are correct.  The issues is easy to reproduce on a windows 10 machine.  Install the quickbooks 2017 pro trial, open the software but do not setup or import an account, update quickbooks, then it will no longer work.

I finally used 5 laptops to get QB uploaded online. Note though that if you do that and choose not to replace your current company, it will start a new trial subscription at the PLUS level for $40/mo. At the end I clicked on subscribe and got 50% discount for a year, so not all bad, but unexpected.

I have the same problem in three different installations of Windows: in Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10. All are fully up to date and should be compatible. It happens even before updating the trial. QB will properly start once; then on the next start it will show "this page can't be displayed"

I called QB customer service and they remoted into my computer and fixed it.  The number is [removed]  I tried to watch what they did to post here, but I couldn't keep up!  Something about deleting and restoring the entitlement client.
