It's good to see you here in the Community, owendavis1234.

Before exporting your tax information from QuickBooks Self-Employed to TurboTax, ensure that both accounts are connected for it to work. Make sure to review the information before you send them to TurboTax.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
    1. Start here. Don’t enter any information in TurboTax before you import it.
  2. Select the Tax Checklist.
  3. Select Review final tax summary.
  4. After reviewing the information, select Send to TurboTax in the bottom right of the screen.
  5. Select It's OK to send my info to send your information to TurboTax.

You can refer to this article for more details: How do I send my QuickBooks Self-Employed tax information to TurboTax?

Your accounts are already connected since you use the same sign-in credentials with both QuickBooks Self-Employed and Turbo Tax Self-Employed it's one of the requirements when exporting information.

Also for the Tax Checklist, it will help you prepare all of your self-employed income, expenses, and deductions for tax filling. For now, the checklist won't available until mid-January but here's you can prepare before-hand.

Greetings!

Thanks for the info. Still have some questions, though. I do have the same login info for both QBSE and Turbo Tax Self Employed, but how do I "ensure that they are connected" and if they are not, how do I connect them?

Secondly, in QBSE in the tax section there is no "Tax Checklist" nor "Review Final Tax Summary". It just shows a breakdown of my annual deductions and then an option at the top to download the tax info.

Any further ideas?

My export keeps failing, or at least not importing the information.

I go through Tax Checklist, click Review & Send, it sends to TurboTax, but no information is being imported.

I've verified all credentials are same, tried clearing cookies/cache, logged in/out, incognito windows, etc.

What can I do?

Good day, acttune.

There's one thing we need to check why the details are not being imported into TurboTax. Let's make sure that your credentials for QBSE and TurboTax are the same. QuickBooks Self-Employed can only send info to TurboTax if they have the same login credentials. Sign in to your TurboTax account to verify.

Just a heads, we can only send the data into TurboTax once. If they have different credentials, I suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. They have workarounds for you so you'll be able to successfully transfer your data into TurboTax.

  1. Go to Help and select Contact us.
  2. Enter Send info to TurboTax in the question field.
  3. Choose either Start a chat or Get a callback.

You can also read this article: Send your info to TurboTax. From there, you can see the things we can do if the two accounts have different credentials.

Comment again you have more clarifications. I'll be right here to help.

I can't contact QB during its limited hours due to my schedule and have wasted my whole day crying at how impossible it is to get any help from QBSE. It took me most of last week just to get past an error that kept my from finalizing my checklist. I FINALLY finalized things and it supposedly sent successfully but none of the data shows in TurboTax. TurboTax agrees it's a QB's problem but, as I've stated, it's disgusting at how difficult it is to reach anyone at QBSE. I need help resetting or otherwise actually transferring my data from QBSE to TurboTax. My login credentials are the same since I'm sure it was going to be asked. Can someone actually please help me?????
