I backed up this morning. Now I can not get into my file because "this company file has been updated to a newer version of QuickBooks"?

Sounds like perhaps you have multiple QB versions installed and are using an older one by accident.  Could that be it?

Welcome to the Community, @cloverleafsanita.

To ensure you get the best support, I need a little more detail on your issue. The questions below will allow me to provide the best support for the error message you're getting.

  • What version of QuickBooks are you using?
  • Does anyone else have access to the file that might have upgraded the software?
  • Can you provide a screenshot of the error message?

After providing more information, I'll be glad to assist you in getting your company files open correctly.

I'll keep an eye out for your response.
