I cant print checks today

The information shared by my colleague above is for QuickBooks Online.  Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to resolve this in QuickBooks Desktop.


First, try updating your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release. Next, the QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool will help if you're having printing issues. It will allow QuickBooks Desktop to create a new file from the default settings.


Here's how:

  1. Download and run the QuickBooks Print and PDF Repair Tool.
  2. Open QuickBooks Dekstop.
  3. Choose File at the top menu bar and select Printer Setup.
  4. Click any transaction in the Form Name drop-down list and click OK. This will create a new Qbprint.qbp file.

Once done, try printing a check.

I cant print checks today

I tried this and when I hit ok the window closes but problem not fixed. On the last pop up if I hit Options instead of OK I get another pop up titled "quickBooks - Unrecoverable Error" It ask me what I was trying to do I fill it in and hit send but have heard back from anybody. Its been about a week

Suppressing the desktop enables you to open a company data file without any windows open. Here’s how to perform these steps while starting QuickBooks.


  1. Right-click the QuickBooks Desktop icon.
  2. Press and hold the Ctrl key to choose Open.
  3. From there, access your company file.

If you get the same result, let’s open a sample file to check if the issue is with the data file or the software. Here’s how:


  1. In the Now Company Open window, tap the Open a sample file drop-down.
  2. From there, choose which file you want to use.

If you continue to experience the same issue, follow the recommended steps in the Unrecoverable Error: General Troubleshooting Steps guide. Then, perform Solution 5: Troubleshoot the QuickBooks Desktop Application.
