I have finished installing QB Premier 2020 Desktop. I am getting "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error" when I try to activate it even after I disabled antivirus. Any clues?

Glad to have you here on the Community page, @mkanaan.

This error usually happens because of the corrupted download or incomplete installation that is affected by a virus. To resolve the error, you can start by repairing QuickBooks, scanning the unwanted and disturbing data as well as cleaning all temporary file with the cleanup disk.

To run the repair tool:

  1. Back up your company file, then restart your computer.
  2. Open the Windows Start menu, then select Control Panel. If you're using Windows 8 or 8.1, search "Control Panel" in the Windows Start menu.
  3. Choose Programs and Features then Uninstall a Program.
  4. Select QuickBooks from the list of Programs, then Uninstall/Change.
  5. Tap Continue, or Next.
  6. Hit Repair, then Next. The repair should start right away, but it may take a while to finish. You can leave it running, and come back once it's done.
  7. Once it's done, select Finish.
  8. You may have to restart your computer to complete the repair.
  9. Update your QuickBooks to the latest release. This makes sure you have the most recent fixes and security updates.

If you're getting the same experience, I recommend completely uninstalling and reinstalling the application to start fresh and ensure your system meets the requirements.

Thank you for your reply.

I have tried two different successful downloads and installed the software -error free- on two different computers one of them is brand new; still the problem persisted.

Finally I changed my input before activation about the information about my company and made it a lot less characters. The problem was RESOLVED. Apparently, one of the fields had too many characters and was causing the error to happen. It would have saved me 4 days of frustration had Intuit deployed an informative error checking routines for that page.

Thank you for your help.
