You don't need to uninstall your QB 2017 when installing QB 2020. You may uninstall it later.

I have attached a photo from my computer screen. This is where my computer gets stuck. I don’t have an option to not do this step. This is part of the Setup_QuickBooksPro2020.

It doesn’t do a thing and it doesn’t move forward and it won’t let me cancel. I have to restart my entire computer

Yes, you can restart your computer to refresh the program. You can also end the task for the QuickBooks installation process.

Here's how:

  1. From your computer, go to the Windows or Start menu, then type in Task Manager.
  2. Tick on the Task Manager from the result.
  3. Highlight all applications that start with .qbQuickBooks, or Intuit.
  4. At the bottom, click End Task.
  5. Close Task Manager window.

Then, try reinstalling your QuickBooks Pro 2020 again. Here's how:

  1. Go to the download  page: https://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/ProductUpdates.aspx
  2. Select the Country, Product, and Version
  3. Tick Search.
  4. Click on the Download button.

It is still doing it. I have tried it so many times. So disappointing.

Yes, I have Windows 10, with the latest updates as of yesterday.

@XP-Innovations--Inc

Are you still able to run QB 2017 without any issue? You should be able to install QB 2020 without uninstalling QB 2017 as I mentioned earlier. If you still hit the wall, check our profile and send your email address in a private message.

This issue has not been resolved and I am so frustrated. I cannot reach anyone by phone either.

If I didn't need this upgrade for payroll, I would ask for my money back. Our company has been with QB for at least 10 years, and I've never had such a hard time.

Very disappointed!  And please don't call for a mandatory update in the middle of a virus when no one is available to help for support!
