I’m getting really frustrated and impatient with this app. Yesterday and today the app didn’t track ***** of my miles. I drove over 100 miles combined. What is the point of paying for this app if it can’t even do its job.

We don't want you to feel this inconvenience, @mam994. And I'd like to make it up with you.

Let's perform some adjustments on your phone and app settings to tracked your trips accurately.

First off, let's review the general location settings on your phone and make sure you’ve allowed the QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) app to run in the background. Please know that not allowing the app to run in the background will only track trips when it's open and active on your screen.

Also, connecting your phone to a Wi-Fi network while you’re driving, won't record your trips correctly. You'll want to make sure you turned off the Wi-Fi setting before your trip, then reconnect it after your trip.

In addition, your device might have trouble tracking mileage in slow-moving traffic and recording the specific addresses of a trip. Let's turn on some settings on your app to improve the accuracy of this info. Here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Self-Employed app.
  2. Select the Menu ☰ icon, then choose Settings.
  3. Click Mileage settings.
  4. Turn on the Track slow speed trips setting.

I'm adding this article for more information: Fix mileage tracking issues in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Then to record your trips from yesterday until today, you can consider tracking them manually in your QBSE account.

Please post a reply below if you have other concerns in QuickBooks Self-Employed, especially on tracking mileage. I'll be more than happy to assist you again. Have a great day and take care always.

I've got you covered, @mam994.

Let me share additional information to help you review your mileage tracking setup.

The options depend on the mobile device you're using. If you're using an iOS device, just click on the Check Mileage settings option.

If you're using an android device, just tap the Hamburger ☰ icon then scroll down to the bottom portion to locate Settings.

If the issue persists, I'd recommend to contact our Technical Support team. A specialist can securely access your account and further assist you in investigating the root cause of this issue.
