I am getting the same exact error as we speak.  Have you figured anything out yet?

I'm getting the same error and I'm seeing some other posts about it as well.  Hopefully, they will see the increase in activity about this issue and address it today.  Bad time of the year for QBO payroll issues!

I'm getting the same error code, too! Really bad timing to be getting error codes in payroll. I'm trying to print W-2's, etc, and it is SO FRUSTRATING. I hope this issues gets resolved soon.

I'm glad I checked this site so I know I'm not alone.  I've been working on end of year reports and W2's and just started getting that same message.  Terrible timing.

Thanks for bringing this error prompt to my attention, @lydbrewer.

Making sure you get to take full advantage of your payroll subscription in preparing your employee’s W2 is my priority. Let’s get started fixing this error prompt!

Let’s go ahead and isolate this issue by performing the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Login to your QuickBooks Online account using an incognito or private browser. Kindly use either of the following shortcut keys:
    • Google Chrome, press CTRL  + Shift + N
    • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL  + Shift + P
    • Internet Explorer: press CTRL  + Shift + P
    • Safari: press Command + Shift + N
  • If you’re able to able to access your account and prepare your employee‘s payroll without being prompted with the error, you may want to clear the cache of your regular web browsers.
  • You can also use the Browser Health Checkup Tool to check any issues with your browser’s health and its compatibility with QuickBooks Online.

If the issue persists, I’d recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team. An agent will be able to look up your QuickBooks Online Payroll subscription on a secured environment and dig deeper on the root cause of the error prompt.
