I need to file my taxes for 2018. I filed for 2019 with the free IRS version, but it seems like I need to buy software for 2018. Is there a way to get it for free?

Thanks for joining the Community today, @daniel30,

If you're referring to filing previous taxes to the IRS, it must be done manually through the IRS website. QuickBooks Online currently supports recent quarter filing and doesn't allow late submission to tax agencies.

To get the 2018 forms, go to the https://www.irs.gov/ website then click on Forms & Instructions. You can also click the following link to locate Prior Year Forms on the Find field: https://apps.irs.gov/app/picklist/list/priorFormPublication.html

Once you fill out all necessary information on the form, mail it to the Internal Revenue Services. Contact their Support Line to get the mailing address and get additional instructions on the filing process.

Also, if you want to enter your data manually into our program, you may subscribe to a trial version. Check out this link for the list of products and payroll we handle: Compare QuickBooks Online plans.

If this requires additional help or you need clarification with the process, drop me a comment below. I'll be glad to get back and provide further help. Have a wonderful week!
