Hello,

I've seen this error multiple times before.  Not sure what causes it but I think it's just a reporting error.  Try logging into your QBO account online and your data should have migrated regardless of the error message.

Run your balance sheet and profit and loss reports in both systems for ALL DATES and ACCRUAL and compare them to make sure they match.  If they do, you're good to go.

Well I sorta feel dumb -- should have checked the online account and indeed it has successfully transferred. Thank you for this tip and time, MJA!

Not sure my reply here went thru. This was the answer -- and feeling a bit dumb for not having checked the data transfer after the error message. Thank you!

Yes, the reply went through.  No need to feel foolish, the error should be a little more descriptive.

I can help converting your company file to QBO, Danaher.

Try to close the company file, and log back in. This helps to refresh your company data. Then, export it again. Go to the File menu, select Export, then To QuickBooks Online.

If the same thing happens, we can run verify and rebuild on your company file. This process will determine if there's a damage data that can cause errors.

Let's also make sure your QuickBooks Desktop for Mac is updated. This helps to smoothly convert your company data to QBO, especially if you're using an older version. To update, you can check it here: Update QuickBooks Mac Desktop.

Additionally, converting your company data may take time. It depends on your company file, the bigger the file, the longer it'll be converted. You'll receive an email after we successfully copy and imported your data. Check your email from time to time for the update.

If there's no changes, we can ask further assistance from our Customer Support Team. They can investigate it for you.

Please let me know if you successfully converted your company file.

hi @clistebusiness ,

Try running your file on Mac 2020

https://http-download.intuit.com/http.intuit/Downloads/2020/Latest/QuickBooksMac2020Trial.dmg

If the error still persists, your file may be damaged. Call Support and ask Intuit Data Service to repair the file. Otherwise, you have to purchase a 3rd party file recovery service.

Hello clistebusiness,

JSON is a standard data interchange format that stores data structures. Also, it is used for transmitting data between web applications or servers. Hence, it is important when converting your file from QuickBooks Dekstop for Mac to Online.

There are different reasons why we can encounter the error. One thing I know is that system's background processes is one of those factors. We can get rid of the error by refreshing the file we want to convert. Here are the steps to do this:

  1. Restart your Mac.
  2. Make sure your QuickBooks for Mac release is updated.
  3. Create a backup file your company.
  4. Restore the backup file.
  5. Convert your company file again.

If the error still exists, I'd recommend asking assistance from our QuickBooks Technical Support Team. You can use the contact information in this link.

I hope you can convert your file so you can continue doing your business activities within QuickBooks.
