I think I did my set up wrong

I added a company and it didn't give me the set up option so my item list is blank. Can I delete the company and try again?

Thank you for posting here in the Community. I'm here to help you today.

 

If you wish to delete the company file you've added, yes, you can delete it and try to set up again.

 

To delete:

  1. Go to File menu.
  2. Choose Open or Restore Company.
  3. Navigate to the file you want to delete and select Open.
  4. Press the F2 key or Ctrl+1 to open file information. Copy down the location of the file. The location address begins with "C:\" and ends with ".qbw".
  5. Close the QuickBooks program and navigate to the file location on your computer. The file should have the QuickBooks icon on it.
  6. Right-click on the file and choose delete.
  7. Reopen QuickBooks and navigate to Open or Restore Company. If the file still appears, click on Edit List and click the company file to hide it.
  8. Select OK to hide the deleted file.

However, you can also add items to your item list:

  1. Go to Lists at the top menu bar.
  2. Select Item List.
  3. Click the drop-down arrow beside Item.
  4. Select New.
  5. Choose the item type.
  6. Add the item name.
  7. Select an account.
  8. Click OK.
