I've used QB 2010 until my old PC died. Now I'd like to use the hosted version of QB. How do I restore from a backup of 2010 and populate all my clients & other info?

What do you mean with QB "hosted" version? QB Online or QB Desktop in a 3rd party hosting provider?

I'll take it as you're referring to QuickBooks Desktop, Biss.

There's a way on how to we can restore your company file. Just a heads up, if the backup data was stored on an external device like USB, we'll need to move it to your local hard drive first.

Afterward, you're good to restore the backup company file. Let me guide you with these steps:

  1. From the File menu, select Open or Restore Company.
  2. Select Restore a backup copy.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Locate the backup data, and then click Open.
  5. When ready, click Save.

Once done, you can now host your computer to allow other computers to access your company data. I've also added these articles which talk about Hosting:
