Removing a company file from an existing company in QuickBooks Online will depend on the scenario that you're in. You've got me here to help you accomplish this goal.
If you're referring to removing a company file from you're existing account, you may cancel the subscription for that specific company file.
To do that:
Here's a link that will give you the complete details about this process: Cancel your QuickBooks Online subscription or trial.
On the other hand, if you've been added as a user and want to detach this file from your list, you'll need to contact the company's master admin. This way, you can inform the admin to remove your users access so their company file will be eliminated from your list.
You may provide this article to the admin for more details about modify users access: Add, delete, or change user access.
I'm also sharing here some resources that you can check about the types of users and managing your QBO account for reference:
Let me know if you have any other questions. I'll make sure you're taken care of. Have a good one.
How does the administrator remove a certain client which we have access to as well as being billed. We won't to remove them from our list and have them get billed directly.
Thank you for joining the thread, @ab651.
The master administrator can remove a client from wholesale billing through the Subscriptions and billing tab. I can guide you on how.
Once, they'll start paying for their subscription themselves. The client has the read-only access to their QuickBooks company until they update their billing info.
To learn more about managing your wholesale billing plans and clients, feel free to open this link.
In case you want to remove payroll for a wholesale billing client, you can check out the steps under the Remove payroll for a wholesale billing client section.
Please keep in touch with me if there's anything else I can do to help you succeed with QuickBooks. I've got your back. Have a great day!
