Install failed - used auto system and now can not down load to my register it wants to start new accounts

Complete failure of 2019 to update my 2016 system is now of no use to me.  It is not downloading to register but wants to start an entirely new register. That is just the first thing I tried.  Have no idea what else will not work?

Are you referring to upgrading your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest version? If so, before you install the latest version, you'll need to create a backup copy of your company file and restore it after installing and activating your QuickBooks.
