Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. I’m here to share some insights about installing QuickBooks App in your Windows 10 S Mode desktop.
Good news, you’ll be able to install QuickBooks App on your desktop since you’ve met the system requirements set for QuickBooks App.
You can directly download the app using this link: http://quickbooks.intuit.com/apps/. Scroll down to Get the QuickBooks Windows App section and select Free Download, and then select Download Now.
To start installing QuickBooks App for Windows, follow the steps below: 1. Double-click the file you downloaded to launch the installer. 2. Select Next, then choose Agree & Install. 3. Wait for the installer to run the rest of the way through. 4. Select Finish.
Might I ask why you'd want to run QBO in Safe Mode? It's really a diagnostic trouble shooting mode for Windows and not intended for normal use.
But if you want to give it a shot, remember QBO is an online program. You'll need to make sure you launch Safe Mode with Networking. Also, your Anti-Virus and Anti Malware programs will not launch automatically in Safe Mode and may not launch at all, so your machine could be exposed. (Some tests years ago showed an unprotected machine connected to the Internet could be infected in less than an hour - it random and depends upon how you actually get to the Internet.)
And If you do give it a try, the QB App may need the Windows Installer to load properly. It also does not launch automatically.
Sorry, but the QBO app will not load to a Windows 10 S mode. I just tried it on my new computer I think S stands for Student and it will only allow Microsoft certified apps to be loaded. They say this makes it more secure. I did use the free option to switch to Windows 10 and then I could load the app.
