My QB Desktop won't connect to the internet to update to I can export my existing file to QB online

This issue has something to do with the Internet Explorer settings, Samvd.

QuickBooks Desktop uses Internet Explorer as the default browser. Therefore, you'll need to ensure that the browser is updated to its latest release. But before trying out this solution, I'd suggest updating and exporting your file on a different computer. This is to check if your network is compatible with QuickBooks.

If you've done these steps and got the same result, I have three more solutions for you:

  • First is to verify your Internet Explorer Settings by checking the Cipher Settings and updating the browser's settings.
  • Second is to do the first troubleshooting inside QuickBooks (in case the first one doesn't work).
  • Third is to repair the Internet Explorer and troubleshoot your firewall, and routers.
