Invoices with discounts displayed without setting up a terms list?

Hi everyone,

I use QB Desktop Contractors Edition (upgraded to 2017).  My question is fairly simple. Is there a way I can setup my invoice template to show at the bottom of the invoice the discounts that would be given for say 2% 10 net 30, 1% net 15 etc.. that automatically populates the fields based on invoice total?

Thank you in advance!

Pleased to see you here, @Joedreamliner.

I'm here to share some information about adding discount to an invoice in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Setting up or adding a discount field on the invoice template is great idea! However, this option is currently unavailable in QBDT. In the meantime, you could create a discount item and add it as a line item when creating an invoice.

Here's how:

1. Go to the List menu at the top.

2. Choose Item List on the drop-down.

3. On the Item List window, click Item on the bottom, then New.

4. Select Discount on the Type drop-down.

5. Fill in the fields.

6. Once done, click OK.

I can see how this feature would be helpful for you and your business. Since this isn't currently an option for setting up or adding the discount, I encourage you to submit a feedback to our Product Development Team for review when determining features to be added in updates. I'm going to submit feedback from my side as well.

Here's how you can send feedback:

1. At the top menu bar, go to Help.
2. Click Send Feedback Online.
3. Enter your request/product suggestion, then click Next.
4. Click Skip and send a message.
5. Select Feedback as the Category.

Thanks for being a part of our QuickBooks family. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions. I'd be glad to answer them.
