It looks as though this error has occurred a time or two within our QuickBooks community. Use these troubleshooting steps, I'm confident it will solve your error message.
1. Use Google Chrome (most efficient browser for QuickBooks) You can download Chrome here.
2. Clear Cache and Cookies.
3. Try opening an incognito window.
4. You can also update your company information by signing in at: accounts.intuit.com
If you perform these steps it will fix any issues you're experiencing when updating your company information.

I tried the steps you outlined; installed and used Chrome, Cleared the Cache and Cookies, and opened in "incognito mode".
I am still getting the same errors and I am unable to edit the company info.
