Latest Release will not install after Downloading via QB Desktop

This is a solution I figured out for those experiencing latest patch updating issue: QuickBooks desktop would keep prompting to download the latest patch "From within QuickBooks Desktop" but it will not prompt to install it even after restarting QuickBooks and/or your PC:

 

If you have a shared company profile, in other words, multiple users access the same company profile, make sure the host PC QuickBooks and its company profile(s) are updated first before proceeding to update other workstations.

 

 

1. Download then install latest patch through this link:  https://downloads.quickbooks.com/app/qbdt/products

 

2. Select your version of QuickBooks you currently have. (you can either download the latest version OR if you need to install the latest patch, look for "Already Downloaded?" and click the link next to it that states 'Get the latest updates.' Save the file to your desktop.

 

3. For latest patch release installation: When ready to install the latest patch, you must close all opened apps including QuickBooks. To install the latest patch release, click the file "en_qbwebpatch.exe" and follow the prompts. A "blue screen" may appear during the installation process. When installation is finish, it will state it is complete.  After installation, the PC may prompt for a restart.

Additional note to begin with. Have each client logged off, change host to single user prior to updating the software. Download and install updates on each client workstation in turn while logged off of quickbooks. Then you can change host back to multi user and reconnect clients
