Does anyone know how I can be notified by Intuit when QuickBooks for Mac 2015 will be updated to run on Mac OS 10.12 Sierra?

I just installed MacOS 10.12 Sierra and when I tried to launch QB 2015 for Mac I received the message "You can't use this version of the application 'QuickBooks 2015' with this version of MacOS. I am surprised that Intuit did not notify licensed users of QuickBooks 2015 for Mac that even though the developer beta had been out for months Intuit has not updated QuickBooks 2015 to run on it. Is there a way to be notified when this update comes out. If so how would I do this. As of now I am unable to use QuickBooks.

Update is out. You can download it from here if you are already on Sierra (or you can run QuickBooks->Check For Updates if you are not)

why would it let me upgrade if I wasn't going to be able to use my QB's? This is so frustrating and poor management.  I am now trying to UNinstall Sierra to go back to Capitan...meanwhile I need my records so I can pay my employees...

Look thru this thread and you'll find a link for the download that is an easy fix.  I found it searching and posted it here  a few weeks ago. It worked without issue as an update.  Easy.

Complete Morons. This is unacceptable. Someone at Intuit should be fired. My accounting has been down for months.

Thank you indeed. FWIW - I did manage to get a refund on my upgrade to 2016 by calling Customer Service.

One issue I've noticed. In the past, I could hit the "Enter" key while in the Description field in the invoice, and type more information in that field. Now, after upgrading, when I hit the "Enter" key while in the Description field, it saves the invoice. Is that a feature that I can turn off? I've looked through the options, but haven't found anything yet.

spratlenj, there is a checkbox in preferences to make the return key move between fields vs. saving the invoice.  It is in the data entry preferences.

I tried that option, but that didn't accomplish what I needed. Control + Return is an absolute pain because my description fields typically have a lot of data per line, but it's a work around. Thank you though for your input. I discovered I have a new problem today. Years ago, my Quickbooks crashed, which resulted in losing a few recent invoices. The backup file did not work either. After restoring from an earlier backup, I began saving each invoice as a PDF when I was done with it, that way I had a copy. I've been a Quickbooks user since 2007. I also use this function to send the invoices to my clients. However, today I noticed that with all new invoices, they only save 4 lines of what's in the description field, and the lines appear to be random. The invoice is complete in Quickbooks, but not printing it or saving it as a PDF. This is a huge problem... Anyone else experienced this? I've also tried a different Mac to view the PDF and different programs to view the PDF, but the issue persists.

People have complained about the return key change. I believe it was a bug fix (return key doesn't select the default icon).  Perhaps we'll reverse it or provide an option (or maybe we don't have a choice for some reason - I don't recall).

The printing out incorrectly sounds like a side effect of the carriage return and the expanding row heights we added.  If you are up for it send me an email and include your user name and a link to this (long) thread.  I'll get back to you to try and get some examples.

In 2016 now there is an option to include an attachment with your printed or emailed invoice.  Perhaps that would be useful for the longer details?

I have downloaded this update. When I click on it in my downloads, I get a box that says move the quickbooks icon in to my applications folder and click on the quickbooks icon.  My quickbooks icon is already in applications and when I click on it it says I can't use quickbooks with Sierra. What am I doing wrong?

We are working on an update to 2015 and it should be available soon.

Keep in mind that Apple has disabled the memory management scheme used by QuickBooks Mac 2015 and earlier. We worked for three years to address this in QuickBooks Mac 2016.  We spent most of the Sierra beta cycle making sure QuickBooks Mac 2016 was ready.  But 2015 is also being worked on and it should be released soon.

As to how you will be notified - check this web page for new versions:
