Lost client and history information after upgrade

Thanks for checking in with us, dmfrench.

When upgrading your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), all the information and transactions will remain in your account. Let's make sure we enter the correct login credentials to your QBSE account.

To better isolate this one, let's access QBSE using a private or incognito window.

Here's how you can access private browser:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If it works, try clearing your browser's cache to delete those temporarily stored files. You can also use other supported, up-to-date browsers to be thorough. Though the article provided is for QuickBooks Online version, still it works in QBSE.

The client information will appear when creating an invoice. Just click on the Invoices tab and select Create invoice. At the upper part of the invoice, enter the customer details. This version of QuickBooks is designed to track only the income and expenses of your self-employment.

If the same thing happens, I'd suggest contacting out to our QBSE Customer Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate what's causing this issue. Just check out this article to reach out to them: Contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support.

I have articles that give you insights on how to handle missing transactions in QBSE:

Let me know in the comment section if you need a hand with running reports or any QBSE related. Keep safe and healthy.
