Migrated Administrator Password

I have spent hours reading all of the people who have the same issue after converting a quickbooks Windows file to Mac.  The issue is the request for a Migrated Administrator password.  I have input the administrator password from the windows file (according to Intuit this should be the same password in the converted file) but it does not work.  Everything then directs you to "forgot password" - makes sense.  The problem then become that it says it is unable to verify my profile info.  Has anyone figured out how to get a password for the migrated administrator and or verify their profile so the file will open?  I have read all of the articles but none of those solutions works.

Migrated Administrator Password

Hello, jdmconsulting.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. Once switching from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Windows to the Mac version, the admin password should be transferred and added to the created Migrated Administrator user. If it doesn't work, we can reset and check the keychain access. However, if the set up is correct and the issue persists. I suggest reaching out to our customer support team. This way, one of our representatives will pull up your account, review it, and further investigate this odd behavior.

Here's how to contact our support team:

  1. Go to:
  2. Select QuickBooks Mac Desktop.
  3. Enter your concern.
  4. Click Start a Message to start chat with our agent.

You can check out this reference for more details on how users and passwords work in QuickBooks for Mac.

Keep me posted in the comment section down below if you have any other concerns. I'm always around happy to lend a helping hand. Have a great day!
