Join nowHi all,
Glad to see such a great place for information sharing.
I'm new to Quickbooks, I started my business just over a year ago and have been using Intuit Quicken Home and Business but after starting this years tax filing I decided to move to Quickbooks.
My business is a Sole-proprietor LLC
1. Is there an easy way to import just my business data from Quicken to quickbook?
2. Should I just enter this years starting balances and transactions manually to get started?
I'm sure I will have many more questions to come, but will do a search first before asking.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Jimmy

Hello there, @Jimmy T.
Thank you for posting here in the Community.
I'm happy to help you share information about importing/converting Quicken data to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
If you need the tax reports for the previous years, then, you may need to migrate/convert the data for those years as well. If not and you're reporting as a new business, you can just migrate this year's transaction and the old data will stay to Quicken.
Depending on the Quicken version, you can convert your Quicken file directly to QBDT or use the Quicken Converter to upgrade your file first.
When to use Quicken Converter:
Make sure you don't have another version of Quicken Converter installed before using the tool. If you do, uninstall it from your computer and download the right version. Once your file is upgraded to a compatible version of Quicken, you can now start converting using the Conversion Utility in QuickBooks.
To convert your Quicken file using the Conversion Utility in QBDT:
Learn more about the conversion process, you may check this article: Convert Quicken data to QuickBooks Desktop.
You're always welcome to add a post/comment if you have any other questions about converting data from Quicken to QBDT. I'll be always here to help you!

I don't believe this answers the question - how do we convert ONLY busienss transactions in our Quicken file to Quickbooks I have one Quicken file - it contains my personal accounts (investments, checking, credit cards) and my corporate accounts (checking, credit cards).
I only want to import busienss accounts and transactions (IE anything flagged in quicken as BUSINESS: categories, accounts, etc.)
I want to bring over the 10 years of company history to Quickbooks, versus starting from scratch on Jan 1, 2021 or Jan 1, 2020.
How do we do this?
You may have 2 options:
1. Convert all data to QB and utilize a deleter tool to delete your personal transactions in bulk.
2. Export your Quicken data out to XLS, remove your personal transactions, and import the rest into your company file by an importer tool
I would recommend the first option.
