Moving QB 2011-12 to a new computer

Hi,
I have download and installed QB Easy Start 2011-12 (new laptop has no disc drive)
I can't get the software to talk to the internet
When I try to activate QB, and click 'next' it tell me the QB will launch a web browser, I click 'ok' but it fails to open a browser.

I have my original licence key which is current and is different to the number I get when I go into 'My Licence Information' on the new machine.

Any ideas on how to update the licence number to the correct current one, and or activate QB on my new machine?

Thank you
Natalie

Moving QB 2011-12 to a new computer

Hi Natalie!

QuickBooks 2011 was already retired. We can't guarantee that it will still work when transferred to a new computer due to the updates in the new computer systems. However, you can still reach out to our Support so they can help you activate it using a validation code.

  1. Click on Help.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Choose Contact us.
  4. In the description field, enter a summary of the scenario and hit Continue.
  5. Click Message an agent.

Let me know if you have other questions in mind.

@NatAdl

You have to contact Support to activate it. If they declined to activate it, you don't have any option but purchasing a new license.

Thanks for replying, as I use this just for my person interest, I am not interested in a month plan.
