Just move form desktop to qbo, this is the first time I run payroll here, and got the error "Something you're trying to use has been made inactive. Check the fields with accounts, customers, items, vendors or employees", I created new employee, pay only one person on salary (not related to any customer or job) and got the same error, contacted support and they say was an issue and they get back to me, I came back here and found similar question, the issue was with the accounts used by payroll, I check on that and it look that's my problem, the list of accounts on my chart of accounts does not match the list on payroll setup, my migrated chart of accounts had numbers. How I fix this?

Hey there, @dajja.

The error message you're receiving means that a field with accounts, customers, items, vendors, or employees has been made inactive. You will need to go through all of these and check that none of your Payroll Settings have any inactive items.

To remap the accounts in Payroll Settings, follow these quick and easy steps:

Go to Gear, then Payroll Settings.
Under the Accounting section, click Preferences.
On the screen will be a list of payroll items and their mapped accounts. Change any of the accounts using the drop-downs and click Save Changes.

That's what I did, remove account numbers and correctly map the accounts.
