Payroll Updates Not Working

Last moth I had this issue also and was corrected by live support. They said it was caused by a stuck check.

When I try to pay a tax liability I will get the message to update.

When I attempt to update It shows success and that I should check again by 7/12/2019 (yesterday).

No changes are made to my tax table version 21912 or my payroll version 0705011.

I did change the UAC, but that didn't help

Tried doing 'Payroll Check-up' but that wont work until I get updates.

My sub is current.

I did recently clone to a new hard drive if that is important. Haven't seen issues with windows or any other programs tough.

Re: Payroll Updates Not Working

Hello @Wallboard,

Let's identify your stuck paycheck and then run the Verify and Rebuild tool to remove it so you can run your payroll again.

First off, here's how you can identify your stuck paychecks:

  1. Go to Edit.
  2. Choose Find.
  3. Select Advanced.
  4. Under Choose Filter, select Detail Level below Filter.
  5. Choose Summary Only.
  6. From the Choose Filter section, select Online Status below Filter.
  7. Select Online to Send.
  8. Click Find.

Once completed, you'll have to run the Verify and Rebuild tool. This way, QuickBooks identifies and resolves the error of your stuck paycheck.

But please know that you'll have to create a backup copy first of your company file so you won't lose any data information.

In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can fix the error of you stuck paycheck: Resolve Payroll Error PS038.

As always you can visit our Help Articles page for QuickBooks Online if in case you need some tips and related articles in the future.

If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know in the comment section below. I'll be always around ready to help.

Re: Payroll Updates Not Working

EDIT

I actually missed a step and now my issue is resolved. It was in fact a PS038 error that I passed over. End edit

Thank you for attempting to help.

After doing the steps you listed and those in the link you provided I still have one check that shows in the find.

First rebuild found one error and fixed it.

Two other rebuilds found no error

Send Usage Data says it is successful and the rebuild data has no change.

The check is dated 10 May 2019 and I have a backup dated 5 May 2019 on a flash drive.

I also have the whole program on the on the other hard drive that I cloned from.

The paycheck is not unique and is a salary that is produced every week, yet this one seems to be a thorn for QB.
