If you have 3 licenses of QB for 1 user with the same year version, you can ask to merge them to get a single license. Call and ask Support to do so. If you purchased the licenses thru a partner/reseller, they should help you. Keep in mind, company only accepts to merge the licenses of any supporting versions (i.e 2018-2020).

Yes, we can definitely do it, JimmyT1.

QuickBooks Desktop Pro provides options to install a multi-user mode for a single person to use on two computers or for multiple users. Each separate user must have a valid license to use the QuickBooks software. Your employees can log in and access the same QuickBooks file if you have installed the QuickBooks Database Server Manager on your server and authorized users to access your QuickBooks company file.

First, let's set up QuickBooks Desktop in your server computer:

  1. Download and install QuickBooks Desktop on your server computer.
  2. Select Custom and Network install for the install type.
  3. Choose I'll be using QuickBooks Desktop on this computer, AND I'll be storing if you want the full version of QuickBooks Desktop on your server computer.
  4. Choose I will NOT be using QuickBooks Desktop on this computer if you just want your server computer to host your files.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the process.

I'd recommend keeping your company files on your server computer's local hard drive for an easier sharing of files over your network.

Second, we'll have to set up folder permissions on your server computer to share company files. We'll also have to make sure QuickBooks Database Server Manager is installed. This program allows you to share your company files with other computers over your network and helps you monitor your multi-user network.

Then, let's set up the user account you use to sign in to your server computer has Windows admin rights and use the Database Server Manager to scan the folder holding your company files. Once it's completed, we can now turn on Multi-user Access on your server computer. I'll show you how:

  1. Select File menu from the top menu bar.
  2. Choose Utilities.
  3. Select Host Multi-User Access, then click Yes to confirm.

Please take note that you'll need to use the user with admin rights on your server computer and workstations if you want to access your multi-user network.

In case you'll encounter unexpected behaviors and errors upon running multi-user mode, you can read to this article to be guided in handling them.

Should you have any other concerns or follow-up questions, you can always find me here. Assistance is just one post away.

@JimmyT1

Just to clarify, do you have 3 licenses of QB Pro for 1 user, or 1 license of QB Pro for 3 users?
