QB crashing during the export to Excel, can not select file.

Please help, I run the repair QB and updated QB from the help menu. Using the Chp. 6 data starter file, along with the downloaded premade forms in Excel. I tried just simply exporting and it still crashes.

QB crashing during the export to Excel, can not select file.

I’m here to help, BoomerSooner80.

I’d like to commend you for updating and repairing QuickBooks Desktop. These are the usual steps when QuickBooks crashes.

The most common reason why QuickBooks Desktop crashes when exporting a report to Excel is if MS Office or QuickBooks installations are damaged.

Since you’ve already performed the recommended troubleshooting, let me share some solutions that can help you resolve this issue.

First, let’s ensure the compatibility of QuickBooks Desktop and MS Office. Take a look at this article for more details:  QuickBooks Desktop system requirements.

Next, run the Verify Data/Rebuild Data processes to correct any data damage.

To Verify:

  1. Click File at the top menu.
  2. Go to Utilities then select Verify.

To Rebuild:

  1. Click File at the top menu.
  2. Go to Utilities then select Rebuild.

Lastly, repairing Microsoft Office can also resolve the issue.

Feel free to visit this article for the outlined solutions in order: QuickBooks Desktop crashes when exporting report to Excel worksheet.

The steps above should help you export a report without any issues. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions later on. I'm always happy to help. Have a good day.
