QB Desktop Pro 2019 new install

Hi Just bought the QB 2019 Cd for my new desktop. I started the install but Installing green bar  did not progress at all . So I stopped the program in the task manager and restarted the process but still no progress how does an install take ? It is stuck at Status: updating component registration for about 10 mins now.

Thanks for getting this to our attention. I can share some insights about the installation process for QuickBooks Desktop.

 

Performance issues when installing QuickBooks can be caused by any of the following:

  • Slow internet connection.
  • The file size of your installation is too large. (When upgrading an existing QuickBooks file to a higher version).
  • The installation link is corrupted or broken.
  • Your computer did not meet the minimum system requirements for QuickBooks 2019 installation.

If you don't have any of these situations, but still getting the same issue, I'd recommend doing a clean installation. This allows QuickBooks to create a new folder to replace broken installation files. Let me guide you on how to do that:

  1. Download the QuickBooks_Clean_Install_Tool.exe file.
  2. Save it to your desktop.
  3. Open QuickBooks_Clean_Install_Utility.exe.
  4. Select I Accept on the license agreement.
  5. Choose the version of your QuickBooks Desktop.
  6. Click on Continue.
  7. Click OK when you see the message "QuickBooks is now ready for a clean install, please install to the default directory."

Please be reminded to always back up your company file before performing any installation to avoid accidental data loss.

QB Desktop Pro 2019 new install

I just installed QB Desktop Pro 2019.  Old files from QB 2012 Executive Enterprise will not open.  Cannot use the Utility to repair any of the 4 old backup files.  HELP!

QB Desktop Pro 2019 new install

I have been writing all evening.  Now have a personal email account open: 

<[email address removed]>  to receive guidance on how to retrieve old QB12 Enterprise backup files to open into new QB19 Desktop Pro just installed on new computer.  When the new program suggested using the pull-down Utilities menu to rebuild data, I could not "find" the old backup files to open.  When I finally found them, I did not have the Utilities command available.  I'm really in a jam !
