QB Test Drive  error message <something is not quite right. An application error occurred while processing your request- 10000"> when I try to post a sales receipt. why?

This error can be caused by your browser, @root49.

Try using a private browser when creating a sales receipt in the QB Test Drive. If you can save it successfully, proceed and clear the cache in the one that you're currently using.

Here’s how to go incognito or use a private browser:

  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Internet Explorer or Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Safari, hold down Command + Shift + N.

Here's the clearing temporary internet files and cache article for detailed instructions. You can also use other browsers like Chrome, Safari, Edge and the like if the steps above didn’t work.

Let me know if there's anything else that I can help. Have a wonderful day!

Something as simple as taking a test drive for a potential client, even this crashes and burns.  This was not a good demonstration for this client and I may now lose them because of this.

Every time I run into an error such as this, it is always "Clear the Cache" or "Use a different browser", etc...  Do you not think that we had already performed these basic routines before we waste our time posting these questions???

Chrome - it crashes

Incognito - it crashes

Edge - it crashes

Desktop interface APP - yup - it crashes!

The only way to do a test, it seems, is to sign the client up to go live and then do the testing.  Obviously, this had to be the business plan of Intuit, thinking that if the client signs up, they are now committed.  But do you honestly believe that a stranger will give up their database to someone they just met, just to do a test drive?  How am I to sow them what their Estimate will look like which will turn into an invoice, if I can't get past Step One of the creation process???

How am I to do any research for these potential clients if everything always crashes??!!

So frustrating - grrrrrrr.....

Okay - so now this is where you answer, "we are so very sorry this is causing you distress and we are here to help.  We recommend you call us at ###-###-#### to discuss your issue and let us help you resolve this issue... blah blah blah..."

Of the numerous posts I have created on here, not one has ever been resolved with a straight honest answer, something like "We are so sorry, but this is a known error.  This sample company has many limitations and is not set up to try many of the functions you may be looking to test.  We apologize for this, however, may we suggest you simply make a one month purchase?  If after you try it and decide this product isn't right for you, simply call to close the company down.  This way you get all the benefits of running a live company for your testing purposes..."

Now that would be the correct thing to say and not "Let's look at your cache on your computer..."  It always seems to be the computer's fault and never the programming...

Hi Budget Friendly Bookkeeping,

It's important for us that you'll be able to enter your sales receipt or invoice when using a test drive.

We receive A report about this issue. Our engineers are working to get this fixed as soon as possible.

In most cases, this works when you're using Edge and when you select Save and close once you create the transaction. However, I still recommend reaching out to our support team so they can add you to the affected list.
