Hi slcatalano,

The error code 185 means that there's an additional security requirement beyond your bank login credentials, such as a security question or one-time passcode (OTP). In this case, you'll want to run 3 to 5 manual updates until the automatic updates begin to work normally.

  1. Go to Banking.
  2. Select the Banking tab and click on Update
  3. Click on Fix now within the error message.
  4. Then, enter the OTP or answer the security question.

If the error persists, I recommend updating your bank account sign-in information in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Once your account is connected, you can now categorize your transactions.

Reach out to us if you have any other concerns. We'll be around.

You are not alone, I have been having the same problem since around the same time, and editing my bank sign-in info doesn't solve it. Have been in conversation with Catarina from Intuit, but no solution yet.

I'd recommend reaching out to our phone support team so they can further investigate and escalate the issue to our engineers. Here's how to contact them:

  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Enter connect bank account as your concern, then click Let's talk.
  4. Choose either Start messaging or Get a callback.

In the meantime, you can import transaction into QuickBooks using our WebConnect feature.
