The installation stops after I put in the license information and it says "Sorry looks like you need a subscription, call this number" Then the installation fails. Please tell me how to proceed. We have a valid subscription, I am just trying to install another workstation. Trying to install Desktop on a 2012 R2 server to use it there, and not store the data there. The data is on another server.
Thank you,
JC

Hey there @jimc2001.
Welcome back to the Community. I'll help you with installing QuickBooks on your 2012 R2 Server. I want to make sure your installer isn't damaged. If you haven't already, try downloading your installer once more from this website here: https://downloads.quickbooks.com/app/qbdt/products . If you're still running into that error message, I'd like to take a look at your account. Do you mind sending me your license and product number in a private message? With that information, I will look over the account and make sure there are no issues. I look forward to hearing from you.

i have the same issue with QuickBooks enterprise 2016
As far as I know, we are not allowed to activate or reinstall any outdated QB Desktop Enterprise any longer (i.e 2017 or older). You may have 2 options:
1. Upgrade to QB Desktop Enterprise 2021
2. Crossgrade to any Pro/Premier version (i.e 2016-2021)
I am having the same issue reinstalling my Quick books enterprise 2017 unto a new system and a new server. It keeps returning the error 'Looks like you need a subscription to keep using Quick Books' Though a some resellers are saying it shouldn't be and they can resolve the issue remotely at a cost. Kindly assist
I've got you covered, @okhen2014. I have some ways for you to pass the error and help reinstall your QuickBooks Enterprise 2017.
If you see this error on a workstation, it could mean three things:
To fix this, here are the steps that we need to take. But before doing so, make sure to verify your QuickBooks Enterprise subscription and use the latest install file available on the QuickBooks Downloads & Updates page.
The first thing we need to do is to reset Internet Explorer settings:
Then, run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic tool from the Tool Hub. This helps fix common errors.
If the issue persists, proceed to solution 3 in this article: Fix Error: Verify your subscription before installing QuickBooks Desktop.
Once the error happens on all computers, I suggest contacting our support team. This way, they can further check your account and find the best resolution.
Additionally, let me attach this article to guide you fix any issues you see when installing QuickBooks: Fix QuickBooks Desktop install errors.

Which resellers? You may send their details to us in private. I am not sure Intuit has changed the policy since 2020.
