Quickbooks licensing

I have been using Quickbooks Pro 2008 on my desktop since 2015. I just bought a new computer and downloaded it again along with the backup info. I had to enter the product and licensing information before running the software. After using it for several days, I tried to use it today and was frozen out. The statement was that Quickbooks had reached the maximum number of unregistered users. When I follow the registration link, it says my phone number doesn't match the information on file.  I don't think I'm trying to do anything illegal here. And I can't get through to anyone at Intuit. Any ideas? Thanks for reading.

Try claiming your ownership

Another option, calling Support to validate your license. Frankly, I am not sure they will help you due to the license is too old. Brace yourself to purchase a new one.

Thanks for checking in with us, Feeding Frenzy

I appreciate the time and effort you've spent to reach out to our support agents to register your software. I'll personally share your feedback with our Customer Support Team regarding this one. We'll be able to take action on improving our customer service.

There are a few possible reasons what you encounter this error message. Among these are:

  • More workstations are open than the number of licenses you have purchased.
  • A log file is stuck and your workstations need to be rebooted.
  • A file used to verify licenses is damaged.
  • The QuickBooks Desktop installation is damaged.

To get this resolve, we need to reboot your system then sync your license online.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select Manage My License.
  3. Tap the Sync License Data Online option.

This troubleshooting step may or may not work since you're using an outdated QuickBooks version.

To get acquainted with the new features in QuickBooks Desktop, I'd recommend downloading and installing the latest QuickBooks version. You can also download a trial version and create a backup copy of your company file before installing it on your computer.

If the same happens, please contact our Technical Support Team. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and help you with registering your QuickBooks 2008.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Click the Help icon on the top right.
  2. Tap the Contact Us button at the bottom.
  3. Enter a short description of your concern.
  4. Tick Continue
  5. Choose Message an agent to connect with our support.
