Join nowThe desktop app for Mac used to work great. Now it constantly goes to the "It is taking longer than usual to get your data" message with a Retry button that does nothing.
I can log out, quit, relaunch and sometimes get back in, but minutes later it's back to the same thing. I used to be able to hold down the Fn key when rebooting and it would reset it and it would then work for weeks or months at a time. Now when I hold that key down it does nothing.
I'm very frustrated trying to use this app. I know I can use a browser but the app was so much nice to keep open on a separate window.
Any help would be appreciated.

I want to make sure you'll be able to use the QuickBooks app without any issues.
Please make sure you've met the system requirements when using the app. Right now, the QuickBooks Online app for Mac currently supports OS X 10.9 (Mavericks), 10.10 (Yosemite) and 10.11 (El Capitan).

I'm exactly in the same boat. I meet all the hardware requirements and running the latest OS. It's Monday morning I have a quote to send quickly and it's totally unacceptable to waste precious time searching the community to achieve such a simple task because the app doesn't work.
Moreover, I logged out and then back in and I still have a blank squares as a dashboard. As a solo-entrepreneur really busy at the moment, as soon as I have a bit of time on my hands I will ditch Quickbooks once and for all as the desktop app is just not up to the task.

I was fighting with this app for a week. I uninstalled and reinstalled. I tried to reset the app data. When all I needed to do was Sign Out and Sign back in again.
