Quickbooks Online Windows 10 App Spell Check

When I am typing in fields in the Quickbooks Online Windows 10 application, I am seeing all the words underlined as if spelling is incorrect. Right-clicking show suggested words in a language I do not recognise. Windows language settings are fine and I do not see similar issues in any other environment. Can't find any language settings specific to the Quickbooks App.

Re: Quickbooks Online Windows 10 App Spell Check

Thanks for checking the language on your Windows settings, Broadcast_Bruce.

QuickBooks Online is designed to use the language based on the region you signed up for. If you're in the US, then the default language is English. Since your computer's language setting is set up correctly, then we can try a few troubleshooting steps.

First, let's try to refresh the installation of your QBO. This is to fix any data-related issues in the program.

Here's how:

  1. Click Help at the top.
  2. From the drop-down, select Reset App Data.

If you get the same thing, you can uninstall and reinstall the QBO application. Here's the link to reinstall the app: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/apps/. Scroll down to the Get the QuickBooks Mac or Windows App section, and then click the Free Download button.

Please keep in touch if there's anything else you need.

I am having the same problem, I have reinstalled to app but the spell check still uses English US and not English Uk.

My language is set to English UK.

Re: Quickbooks Online Windows 10 App Spell Check

I commend the steps you’ve taken to reinstall the app and for setting your language to English UK, WAFabs.

Since your spell check still uses English US, I’d recommend contacting the phone support team. They’ll be able to create an investigation and figure out the root cause of this issue.

Here’s how you can reach them:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online app.
  2. Click Help next to the gear icon.
  3. Select Contact us.
  4. Enter your concern about the spell checker.
  5. Click Let’s talk.
  6. Select Get a callback.

Visit and post a question again if you need anything else.

Re: Quickbooks Online Windows 10 App Spell Check

Hi there, @WAFabs.

As mentioned by my peer SophiaAnnL, the language will be based on the region you signed up. Since your computer was set up to English UK, let's check the Spell Check settings from your browser. Thus, it'll also affect the spell check on your QuickBooks application. Let me guide you on how to turn on the Spell Check in your browser.

If you're using Internet Explorer, here's how:

  1. Click on Tools and choose Internet Options.
  2. Select the Program tab.
  3. Click Manage add-ons.
  4. In the left-hand column, click Spelling Correction.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the window and check the Enable spelling correction box.

Then, if you're using Google Chrome, kindly follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Settings, then the select Settings menu item.
  2. Click Show advanced settings at the bottom of the page.
  3. In the Languages section, click the Languages and spell-checker settings.
  4. Check the Enable spell checking box.
  5. Click OK.

Re: Quickbooks Online Windows 10 App Spell Check

Hi,

I purchased QBO in Australia and we use the English spelling here, mine seems to be set to US spelling, I have the UK English language pack installed on my computer and I use Chrome to check the spelling which is also set to UK English.

See attached.

I have reset and also reinstalled the app.

Re: Quickbooks Online Windows 10 App Spell Check

Thanks for getting back to us, WAFabs.

We’ll have to perform more in-depth troubleshooting steps to fix the language used on the Spell Check feature. Since we value the safety of your account, I recommend reaching out to our QBO Care Team.

They can help configure the settings of your computer in a secure space. If necessary, one of our support agents will perform a screen-sharing session with you to determine why the language used in the application is still incorrect.

To contact them:

  1. In your QBO company, go to the Help menu to select the Contact Us link.
  2. Enter contact support in the field box, and then click on the Let's Talk button.
  3. In the contact us window, choose how you want to reach our support: Get a callback or Start a chat.

I want to ensure that you get the most out of the product and I’m including some tutorials designed to help new users in QBO: Training videos.

Please let me know if you have further questions or concerns. I’m more than happy to help. Have a good one.
