Company Files(data) is hosted on the server and shared
Installed QBP using Custom Network and picked data only not running quickbooks option.
Run database instance and scans and completes ok
Now there is where there seems to be a lack of documentation as far as the config goes for the clients and server side
My gut tells me the clients should be configured to be using multi access
But what needs to be done to the company files on the server for initial setup as they were hosted on a single computer in single user mode. Now they are on a server with 3 clients.
I am thinking the company file would need to be opened in single user mode
then enable multi user mode and add users.
If someone could provide some steps as there seems to be nothing in the manual all 22 pages of it which has nothing of use for install instructions
thanks for any info you can provide

Good job on your attempt to do the process by following the QuickBooks manual. That will actually guide you with the basic steps in getting started with the software. I have installed QB server on a MS 2012 R2 Standard server in order to give multi-user access to one business file and have completed the steps to setup the database manager but I am having problems finding the program used to scan for the company file in order to add it to the database manager.
On my Microsoft server 2012 I do not have a start and if I use the windows key I still do not get any Quickbooks programs to choose from. Is there a Run command that I can use to scan for the quickbooks company file?
There are a few solutions to resolve this, RobertSan.
You can choose either of these options in finding your company file.
Also, this article provides some other solutions in resolving this concern depending on where you're trying to access company file: Company File is Missing or Cannot be Found.
Feel free to let me know if you need more help. I'd be around anytime.
In the instructions above to install the server database manager the last step is to do this:
Open the QuickBooks Database Server Manager
Scan Folders feature
All company files stored on the server must be scanned once to ensure that they're configured properly to allow other users access to these company files.
When the scan completes, the company files in the scanned folders are configured for multi-user access.
But the QuickBooks Database Server Manager is not an app on my server in the app list when pressing the windows key. How can I get there to make sure the database manager is using the company file I need to have multi-user access for?
Thanks for getting back to me, RobertSand.

To answer my own question I found the program in question as QBServerUtilityMgr.exe under C:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Intuit/QuickBooks/QBServerUtilityMgr.exe
I had my computer cleaned and I can't find my quick books application anymore
Let me walk you through in looking for your company file, Teresa13.
QuickBooks Desktop has an option to restore the data that could not be found using a wild card search. We'll have to type in the Start menu the quickbooks.exe file. Once we've found the file, you might want to restore the company file that you last backed up.
We can also directly download QuickBooks through our website.
Let me show you how:
Install and activate it afterwards and were'e all set. Let me know if you need more help by leaving a reply below.
