Quickbooks Pro 2019 Won't Install

I have been trying for 2 days to install the new version of Quickbooks. I've gone through all the steps to uninstall, repair, and clean install, and have even completely deleted all intuit folders in program files, appdata, and programdata before installing again. I have redownloaded the installer 3 times. The install seems to go fine, but when it gets to the end the "Run Quickbooks Now" button is greyed out. No icon is added to the desktop, the setup and installer shortcuts are still there. The start menu only shows the "Quickbooks Database Server Manager" and I am unable to find a quickbooks.exe file to run in the program files.

Is there a number for tech support?

Re: Quickbooks Pro 2019 Won't Install

Hello,

Thank you for the information, however Quickbooks was no longer installed on my computer, and the new version wasn't running, so I was unable to open the help menu. Shortly after I posted this question I received a phone call from tech support. I am unsure where they got my phone number from. They did help me to get Quickbooks installed, but proceeded to inform me that my company files were corrupt and offered me repair services for $14 a MB for a total of around $10,000 or 1 year of support for $3,999 which is outrageous. I have their callback number written down if anyone can confirm that it's even a number owned by Intuit.

Long story short, the steps to get Quickbooks to install were to install it with the "Custom" option and select the 2nd option that Quickbooks should be installed for a local file and the file will be shared. The Quickbooks files and backups were all renamed on my computer, thanks I'm sure to tech support. The extension was changed to QBM which normally can be imported as a portable file, but they all returned an error that they were not the portable file format. Luckily, Renaming the files with the proper extensions got them working again and they show no signs of corruption.

I am going to run virus scans on my computer now to make sure they didn't add any more surprises for me. Moral of the story, don't trust random calls from tech support.

Re: Quickbooks Pro 2019 Won't Install

Appreciate the complete details of your concern, @KonaSurfCo.

Allow me to chime in and provide you with some information on how QuickBooks installation errors are being taken care of.

Often,  upgrading your QuickBooks to the latest version one meets an error. If this happens, we can perform troubleshooting steps to fix installation errors. However, if the error persists, our Technical Support Team will be able to further assist you free of charge.

Also, if it involves fixing your company file, the Technical Support agent will escalate your concern to Data Services, an internal department which handles data processes and restoration. You’ll be contacted via an email and again this is free of charge.

Although your QuickBooks is already installed, I’d still recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. A specialist will be able to make an official report on the charges you’ve received in fixing the installation errors to our Fraud and Security Team.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Click on the Contact us link.
  4. Choose Search for something else.
  5. Type in a keyword about your concern.
  6. Hit Submit.
  7. Click on the Start a Message button.

Please don’t hesitate to get back to us here in the Community if you have other questions about installing QuickBooks. I’m always here to help.
