QuickBooks Pro Desktop 2020 R7 Glitches

At the prompting of QuickBooks 2020 Pro, my company updated our company file and also installed R7 on two work stations. Among other little glitches on the two updated work stations, we have a HUGE glitch when it comes to clicking a menu tab at the top (File, Edit, View, Vendors, etc.). When clicking on one of those tabs, QuickBooks locks up for several moments before finally showing the tab dropdown menus. Is there any fix for this? We can't be the only ones with this issue.

Also, when logging in as Admin now, it requires we create/log in with an Intuit account. Is that really necessary? We enjoy our privacy. I didn't see any way around it other than to click "I need more time." If we do NOT log into an intuit account as Admin will it not allow Admin to log into the company file? That's another thing--the pop up said login to the company file was successful, but then right below it, it said to login to the company file we needed to sign into an intuit account.... That's really contradictory. And should not be required? We even attempted to log in out of fear the Admin account would be locked out and Intuit's websites within QuickBooks were not working...

QuickBooks Pro Desktop 2020 R7 Glitches

Thanks for sharing the details with me, @sn99502

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to get this issue sorted for you. I suggest running our QuickBooks Tool Hub. This will diagnose and fix uncommon issues in your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) software. Let me guide you how.

  1. Close your QuickBooks
  2. Download the QuickBooks Install DiagnosticTool.
  3. Save the file to the local Desktop or your preferred location.
  4. Open the QuickBooksToolHub.exe file.
  5. Follow the onscreen instruction to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  6. Once the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

You can also read this article for more details in running the tool: QuickBooks Desktop won't open, has stopped working, or not responding.

Additionally, from the previous Release 6 (R6). When opening a new company or existing file, admin users are required to log in to their Intuit account. Here's an article you can read that tackles more about this: Release notes for QuickBooks Desktop 2020.

On top of this, I'm adding this great resource that provides complete details on how to set up restrictions in your QBDT software: QuickBooks Desktop Users and Restrictions.

If you have other concerns, you're always welcome to post here anytime. I'll be around to back you up. Take care!
