It's great to see you here today, @osiniavin

You're on the right track in creating price rules on your laptop. However, this feature won't work in the mobile app. I'd suggest applying rules to your transactions via a web browser. For more information, see the Important section through this article: Set Pricing Rules in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

I can see how beneficial it is to use this feature in the app. It helps you sell products and services with pricing rules anytime and anywhere through your device. With this, I'll take note of your suggestion and submit this to our product engineers. They can evaluate your preference for future releases. I recommend visiting this website: QBO Mobile Blog. This link provides you more details about our mobile app improvements.

The supported features differ on the phone model you have. You can use the chart to easily compare them through this article: Features Availability in Mobile App

Please know that I'm always here to help if you need anything else. Take care always, @osiniavin

Side question. Do you have or can refer me to solution. I’m running distribution business and need almost everything done in field (no laptop, no WiFi) and I’d like to be able to print QBO invoices from my phone using thermal(best case) or any other printer. Can you tell me what printer will be compatible with iPhone and QBO?

Hi there, osiniavin.

Thanks for coming back to this thread.

We're unable to recommend what specific printer you can use in printing your invoices using your mobile device. Since iPhone uses a unique printing feature (AirPrint) for printing via a wireless LAN or directly to AirPrint-compatible printers, I recommend reaching out to Apple to know the supported printers for iPhone.

If you already have a printer, you can contact the manufacturer of the printer to know more about the printer setup for iPhone.

I also encourage you to visit this article to learn more about the different QBO features available to your mobile device: Compare mobile app features.

In case you need to print your invoices through your laptop, you refer to this article to be guided in doing it: How to email or print an invoice.

Should you need additional help in completing your task with QuickBooks, you can always find me here. Assistance is just one comment away.

Are price rules supposed to work in mobile app? I created them on laptop and they were working just fine, but in mobile app on my phone they don’t work...

Hello,

I am having the same issues with the mobile application and printers as well.  I am also a distributor and would like to use Quickbooks in the field.  The price rules are set in the online application but will not transfer over to mobile application.  I need to set certain prices for certain store chains and need to have that price reflect on all my user screens - not just on laptops.  That is a waste of space.  If this feature is not available, I will have to go with a different accounting provider.  I also need to print in the field without carrying around a full sized printer.  I'd prefer to use a DSD printer (Zebra technologies makes them), but I'd need to know which model works with the Quickbooks application.  Again, if this feature is not available, I will end up having to go with a different provider.  I have found that most DSD printers do not like to print in PDF format.  They like text format.  That is the biggest issue I have found when experimenting with DSD printers.

Thank you,

Tracy

Hello there, @LizardLinesLLC. I see the point that you're making.

Mobile app features is limited compare accessing your QuickBooks Online in a browser or online application.

I understand how it would be helpful to access the Price rule feature and print the field without carrying around a full sized printer. In QuickBooks mobile app, we can look for a third-party application as a workaround.

I suggest visiting QuickBooks Apps to find one that will suit your business needs. If you consider doing this one, you can go through the steps below to find a compatible application that will help you get this thing done.

  1. Type a keyword in the search box.
  2. Then choose the one that best suits your need the most.

This is a place where you’ll find third-party applications that integrates with the online program. You can also check the customers’ reviews to get a better comparison of each app.

You can also learn more which QuickBooks Online mobile app features are supported on mobile devices: Compare features.

Hello Sarah,

The price rule feature will not work on the online version of Quickbooks through any mobile device.  I have a tablet and a phone and have tried to use both to access the QB Online.  It takes forever to load and will only allow one item to be added to an invoice before it refuses to add any more lines.  I have to wait until I get home to add any credit invoices for the same reason.  The mobile application is much cleaner, works faster, and does not crash.  I will look through the third party apps to see if there is a work around.  Thank you for responding.
