Computer Crashed. Recovered Year Old back up. "your company file is missing one ... This may be a result of using a company file that has been restored from an outdated backup file."

Please help me. My laptop was completely 100% wiped. The most recent back up file i could find was reconciled up to 11/30/2019. I am at a lost. Is there some way Inuit has a more recent upload of my company files?

I am at step 6. Copy the .QBW.adr file and paste it to the QBTest folder. You should now have a .QBW.adr and .tlg file on your QBTest folder. But my files read ".qbw.TLG.ADR.old" as well as "qbw.ADR.old"

there's no way for me to access my lost recent files is there..

Hi @tmbrenner,

Thank you for your prompt reply, and for sharing an update on your status,

At this point, I suggest you contact our Technical Support team for further assistance. They can pull up your company information within a secure environment, and offer a remote session with your permission. That way, they can take a look at your backups and see if they can restore a more recent one compared to what you already have.

See this article for the steps: Contact QuickBooks Desktop support. It includes their hours of operations so you know they're available when you contact them.

In case you encounter data issues with your company file, you can refer to this article: Fix data damage on your QuickBooks Desktop company file. It has different options you can go through on how you can resolve issues with your company file.

You can always drop a reply in the comments below if you have other concerns. I'll be around to take care of it.

Thank you. I spent the better half of my day in a chat with Tech. Support only to get to the disappointing conclussion that I cant be helped because I don't have $300 to $500 to upgrade my quickbooks from the outdated version I am using. I just have to figure out how to make my QB stop warning that I'm using an outdated restore file, all the while I have to imput 13 months worth of EVERYTHING going off of incomplete emails. Moral to the story. Don't be a me. Back up often. Back up with clear file names. And above all. BACK UP TO A SAFE PLACE OTHER THAN YOUR HARD DRIVE.

Sorry to rant.
