Error 3371status code 11103

QuickBooks Pro 2013 software suddenly will not open.   Nothing has changed and my Windows 10 Pro OS was up to date the last time I used QuickBooks before receiving the message below.

"[Error 3371, StatusCode -11103] QuickBooks could not load the license data.  This may be caused by missing or damaged files."

I have tried to repair, uninstall/reinstall, reinstall after registry and full pc cleanup to no avail.  Please help.

First, 2013 was never meant to run on a Win 10 machine.  Also, did you recently re-install QB?  This is a license problem (see Error 3371).

You need to upgrade.  2019 is out now.

2013 was on my machine when it was upgraded from windows 7 several years ago.  It is not a new install and has worked flawlessly on windows 10 for years until today with absolutely no changes to the PC.

Interesting - the same exact thing happened to me a little over an hour ago.  Did Intuit do something?  I used it, logged out and then couldn't open it after that.  Same error message, reinstalled, everything.

Yes, @Lexiesmemere is correct, the error that you received is a license issue. To get this resolved, you can check out this article for the troubleshooting steps: Error 3371: Could not initialize license properties

 

On the other hand, QuickBooks 2013 is one of the unsupported version, which can also be the reason for the error that you're getting. I'd suggest upgrading your QuickBooks to the latest version so you can run your business easier and faster.

I've been fighting this problem today with QB Pro 2014 on a Win10/64 Home PC. I've done a clean/fresh install and the problem remained.

However, Quickbooks will run after I delete the EntitlementDataStore.ecml license file. But the problem returns after I log off or reboot. QB works again each time I delete the license file. Rinse and repeat.

I have another PC that is working. The difference is that is Win10/64 Pro and uses McAfee protection (the non-working PC has Windows defender).

So I came here for a fix. Hopefully someone has one.

QuickBooks 2014 and older versions aren't tested on a Windows 10 environment. This is why the error keeps popping up. It might have worked initially, but it's not guaranteed that the error won't come back.

 

You might want to consider upgrading to the latest version that is compatible with Windows 10. Here's a link  to our website: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/desktop/.

Thank you I will try it. I tried the fix but couldn't get past #4 - could not open v8 folder

I am on Windows 7 for QB 2014 Non-profit and got the error Thursday night.  I was working fine Wednesday night.

Have not been able to get into program since.

The frustrating part of this is that I already have current online version of QB but hadn't transfer data yet.

I downloaded a new QB 2014 but hadn't un-installed old one.

New one doesn't work either.  Get the same error.

Any suggestions?

To gain temporary access I suggest you try recreating the license file. See this:

I have done the uninstall and reinstall. also changed the name of the old QBooks folder name so the new install would be a different folder. After the reinstall, QBooks works fine until you close the program. When you try to open it again you will get the same error message. I sucked it up and ended up buying a newer version

I was able to delete the damage EntilementDataStore.ecml file. And reinstall the Qbooks file. But again it works until you close the file. You would have to repeat process

Please let us know on this thread also.  I am trying to install a new computer for my bookkeeper and I want to have it set up for her asap.  I will keep checking this forum to see if you gotten it resolved.

There are several reasons why you encounter this error code when you activate or open QuickBooks Desktop. You'll need to make sure you're using a supported license version which is compatible with the operating system.
