How do I transfer QB Pro 2011 files to Desktop 2019?

Glad to have you here in the Community, JK67.

I'd be happy to walk you through the steps on transferring your QuickBooks Pro 2011 files to QuickBooks Desktop 2019.

First off, let's create a backup copy of QuickBooks Pro 2011 company files to keep a record of your transactions. Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu, then select Backup Company.
  2. Choose Create Local Backup.
  3. On the Create Backup window, select Local Backup and click on the Options button.
  4. Choose the Browse button and select where you want to save the file.
  5. Click on OK.
  6. Run through the Backup Options window and select the appropriate action, and click on OK.
  7. In the Create Backup window, click on Next.
  8. Choose whether to save your backup now, schedule future backups, or both.
  9. When you’re done, click on Finish.

Then, you can now install QuickBooks Desktop 2019. For more guidance, you can read this article for the step-by-step process: Install QuickBooks Desktop.

Once installed, you can upgrade the company file to a new QuickBooks version. Feel free to check out this article for the detailed steps and information: Upgrade or convert your company file.

If you have additional questions about the process, keep me posted by leaving a comment below. I’d be glad to lend a helping hand. Wishing you all the best.
