Hi there, @user09932.
Thanks for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I can share some information about printing the signature on a check in QuickBooks Online.
Currently, the option to add a signature and print it on a check is only available in QuickBooks Desktop. Having this feature in QBO is indeed a great idea and I’d appreciate if you send your product suggestions straight to our Developers for consideration in future updates.
Here’s how to send product request:
1. Click the Gear icon.
2. Select Feedback.
3. Enter your suggestion.
4. Click Next.
5. Click Skip and send message.
6. Select a Category.
7. Click Send message.
You can also send your feedback by going to the following link: QuickBooks Online Feature Requests. I’ll make sure to do the same thing on my end.
We’d love to hear from you. Please let me know if I can be of additional assistance or should you have any follow up questions. I’ll be here to help. Have a good one!
For an application that seems to have been built for working remotely I find it incredibly surprising that this is not a day1 feature. This should be a standard feature for any online accounting application, including the ability to have management sign-on required approval for payment of bills and check writing. Come on Intuit!
Hello there, @mmoulton.
QuickBooks is constantly changing and evolving based largely on the suggestions and requests of users, like yourself. Allow me to share some information on how you can maximize the use of the different features in QuickBooks Online.
Currently, QuickBooks Online offers the basic functionality in creating and printing checks. What you can do for now is to affix your signature manually on every checks you’ve printed or integrate a supported E-signature Third-Party applications.
To visit QuickBooks Online’s app center, here’s how:
On the other hand, I can definitely understand why this would be beneficial to you and your business, though! Having the ability to automatically sign-on bill payments and add a signature on checks would save you a lot of time and resources. I’d be glad to share this to our Product Developers for future considerations. You can also send to us your suggestions and feature requests for product improvements.
You can be sure that we’ll continue enhancing this program so it grows alongside your business. To see what’s in store for QBSE, stay tuned to our blog: https://intuit.me/2L2zqTv.
Feel free to visit our Community page if there are any app features you’d like to get more familiar with. I’m always here to help.
Thanks for visiting the Community, @itw02,
Intuit strives hard to meet our customer's accounting needs by advancing tools to make QuickBooks easier to use. While the option to print a signature on your QuickBooks Online checks isn't available at the moment, you may follow the recommendations of my peers @KhimG and @juVielL on their answers above.
Sending your suggestion to our developers helps them understand where we can improve and what features should be added so we can better serve you. In order for them to account your suggestions, you can also add your feature request through this link: https://feedback.qbo.intuit.com/forums/168199-quickbooks-online-feature-requests/suggestions/6049622...
That should do it, @itw02. I also submitted this suggestion on my end to reinforce your request.
Your willingness to help Intuit improve our products and services is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to let me know if there's anything I can help you. Have a good one!
Has there been any traction on this since the last post? Would be incredibly valuable to our company to have this functionality built out.
Has there been any traction on this since the last post? This functionality would be incredibly helpful to our company.
Thanks for joining this thread, @cmahon.
Finding new ways to adapt to our customers’ needs is how QuickBooks gets even better. The feature to print a signature on the QuickBooks Online checks is currently unavailable, and I encourage you to send feedback directly to our Product Developer team. They can decide which features will be implemented in the next future update and the change is also based on how popular a specific feature request is.
I can see how this feature would be beneficial to your business, and I'm also preparing a feedback submission right now.
While this option is't available at the moment, you may consider the workaround provided by my colleague @juVielL.
Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other questions. Community team will always got your back. Have a good one.
Thank you for the reply @JanyRoseB. I did not see any E-Signature apps within Quickbooks App Store - can you please direct me to a few apps that have this feature?
Hey there, @cmahon.
Currently, e-signatures are available in the mobile app. Also, e-signatures can only be attached to invoices and estimates.
I encourage sending feedback to our engineers to add this feature to QuickBooks. This way, they can see your suggestions and consider it in future product updates to benefit all users.
Please let us know if there’s anything else you need help with.
I tried the gear icon suggestion. It says that this feature has been disabled and sends you to a page designed for suggestions... which as also been disabled. It says to come here and leave a comment and people and designers will vote on it. Frankly its a no brainer, why does it need suggesting or voting? Why would you not have it on an accounting software.? Free accounting software such as zero and wave include this feature. Is the desktop version much better? Can they be more similar? Hoping so because its taken a couple years to get to know all the features and don't want to move to a new platform but this feature is essential on a daily basis. Can someone answer the question: Why would it be included on the desktop version but not on the online version?
Hello there, Creative Carpentry.
Some features in QuickBooks Desktop aren't available in QuickBooks Online. Your feedback and its votes are helpful for our engineers to know what features need to be added. This is also reviewed by them and I would personally give this feature request to them as well.
In the meantime, you can use the mobile app to add e-signature to your invoices. Also, you can refer to this article for the comparison between QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
The Community is always around to help you with your questions.
This is a total slap in the forehead moment. This is one of THE first things I realized that was different than QBDesktop. I can not believe that no one...NO ONE @ Intuit didn't realize that they missed this one. Makes me question what kind of operation they run over there.
Thank you for voicing out your concerns to us. It means so much to us that you let us know what you need and expect with our product.
I also understand the importance of adding signatures to your checks on the online version. Don't worry, I'll pass this along to our engineers to let them know of your insights.
Please let me know if you need help with anything else. I'll be here to help.
It seems like nothing has been changed since the last update. Is this correct? I would love to use this option for my three companies. Please advise.
Currently, there isn't an option to add signatures to your checks. But I have a workaround that you can consider.
Adding signatures to your transactions is available in the mobile app and in the desktop version.
In the meantime, you can search for applications online which can be integrated into QuickBooks.
Once you've found an application, you can contact their support. This way, they can guide you on how to integrate with QuickBooks.
You can always get back to us if you have any other concerns. I'll be around to assist you.
How has this not already been resolved? QB Online is a garbage product. This is a BASIC service and not a feature.
I appreciate you joining this thread, @QuBksSux.
I'm here all ears to listen and take note of your feedback. I'll make sure to pass these ideas along here on my end for consideration in the near future.
As my colleague said, you can try a QBO integrated application to add and print signatures on checks since this isn't available yet.
Meanwhile, I'm adding below the essential materials for QBO users. It provides the articles, tutorials, blogs, and overview of the product.
Please know that I'm always here to help you if you have other concerns. Take care always!
The inability to print checks with a signature is what kept me away from QBO for many years. Unfortunately another software I use ended it's integration with QB Desktop and will only now connect to QBO so I had to make the change. It seems like such a small design change, why hasn't this issue ever been fixed? I may just need to change my accounting software entirely. An online platform can much more easily implement system improvements on the fly, so what excuse is there not to fix this issue? It seems like QBO just doesn't want to make any effort.
Thanks for putting your voice and providing feedback about the digital signature for QBO checks, @REMAX Town Center,
Having the option to assign e-signatures when printing checks is a great idea to add in our program. Right now, this feature is available in QuickBooks Desktop and is not yet applicable for QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Since QuickBooks Desktop and QBO are two separate platforms, t he availability of functionalities may differ for each program. Our developers have a massive product roadmap and are implementing new features based on the functionality that works best for most users. I'm taking note of this request and making it my top priority that it reaches our developers. For now, you can affix the signature manually on every checks you’ve printed or integrate a supported E-signature third-party application.

Let me know if there’s anything else I can do to assist you today. I’m always available to help if you ever need one.
How in this world is this not an option right up front? I pay CONSIDERABLY more for QBO than I would for Desktop, and yet, there is a BUNCH of crap not available! Get on the stick. Intuit. You're not too big to leave!
It is mind-blowing that this is STILL not resolved. I spent about an hour this morning Googling solutions, then trying to add an app and printing the signature that way. The app I added had no direction on how to do this. I then made a blank Word document, added the signature there, printed my check and then ran it a second time to print just the signature on the check. REALLY? I am not even a tech person in the least and I had to problem-solve this way?
Thanks for joining this thread, lgrady.
I appreciate you for sharing your experience with printing a signature on a check in QuickBooks Online.
As mentioned by my colleagues in this thread, this feature is only available in QuickBooks Desktop.
If the app you added is coming from the Intuit App store, I recommend contacting them. By doing so, they can guide you through on how to attach your signature to the check in QBO. Otherwise, you can contact the third-party app to get help from them in adding e-signature.
Here's how to get help from the app store:

Thanks for your patience and understanding while we look into this.
Is there any update on this issue? It's been almost a year since it was brought up. Any time frame on if/when this will be implemented?
I already sent in feedback regarding this, however I am not sure if it was even received/read because I didn't receive a response.
